The book club meets in the lounge on the 2nd Monday of the month at 1.30pm to 3pm.
We discuss the previous month’s book and give out another. We have had a very diverse reading list from the classics to some top twenty paperback titles. We agreed at the start that we would not spend more than £5 on each book, most of them have been less than that and some we order free from the Library Book Club service.
We exchange views on the books, discuss the characters and plots and are often surprised at how the discussions develop. We have all enjoyed reading books that we may not have read otherwise and the gentle discipline of having to read a book by the next meeting.
At present the group comprises some 12 ladies and new members are always welcome. The book club is led by Judy Young (0118 9586685), and Jean Greenslade.
