Local Support

Yeldall Manor

"A Christian response to addiction." Yeldall Manor is in Hare Hatch, about 7 miles from Reading, and provides a structured programme for 25 men seeking release from addiction. The initial programme lasts for 6 months and continues to 11 months. Support is also given after residents leave. The emphasis is on Bible teaching and discipling but includes work on the site, counselling and opportunities for sport and education. Over 60% of the men remain addiction free.

Prospects

Prospects provides long-term residential care for over 80 adults with mental and learning difficulties. Helena House in Reading is one of these homes, and some residents are largely self-supporting. Causeway is an initiative to raise awareness among local churches, and to help equip them to provide Bible-study groups relevant to the needs of people with learning difficulties.

Reading Lifeline

Reading Lifeline is a free and confidential service offering care, support and counselling following an unexpected pregnancy or abortion.

FAITH

FAITH ("Feed All In Thy Hands") is a Mission to the homeless, needy and lonely in Reading. They organise the collection and distribution of food parcels to people in need.
